A Thailand–Japan sustainability art exhibition. Eight artists from two countries take what their cities discarded — plastic packaging, marine debris, milk cartons, construction rubble, leftover clay — and give it a second voice.

EChOes of Waste stands on both. In 2026 — the year before Japan and Thailand mark 140 years of diplomatic relations — it turns a shared problem into a shared language, and asks what a discarded thing can still say.
The space 〈 会場構成 〉
Zoned by what it used to be
Wood, metal, plastic and more: the floor is divided by material rather than by artist, so you walk through the waste stream itself. A Waste Heat Map visualises where it all comes from, and a Their Stories panel wall carries each maker's reason for making.

We began with a simple question: if a thing has finished the job it was made for, is it really finished? Two weeks in Bangkok is our answer — eight artists, two countries, one pile of material that nobody wanted.
We hope you leave with something small and stubborn: the habit of looking twice.

About
ACTA+ACTA comes from 芥 (akuta), an old Japanese word for refuse. ACTA+ works with artists in Japan and abroad, starting from things that would otherwise be thrown away, to create a cultural mutualism between people and nature through art — and by exhibiting and circulating that art, to give waste a value it did not have before.
Part of every sale returns to the artists and to work that grows sustainable culture. ACTA+ is the operating partner bringing EChOes of Waste to Bangkok.
Art, circulated
Works are shown and sold rather than filed away, so discarded material re-enters the economy carrying a price and a story.
